I taught kindergarten or first grade in Benton Harbor Area Schools for 25 years. My last year in Benton Harbor (2017-2018), I was part of their Administration as the Partnership Agreement Accountability Assistant.
My Bachelors' Degree is in Special Education from Calvin University (formally Calvin College) and my Master's Degree in Elementary Education is from Western Michigan University.
I live in Benton Harbor with my husband, Tony, who is a retired high school math special education teacher. He is currently teaching PE/Health at Our Lady of the Lake in St. Joe. We have a son, Howie (21), who is in his third year at Lake Michigan College with a major in Culinary Management and a daughter, Mary, who is 22 and out on her own. We also have three dogs (Prince, Rocky, and Ollie).
