One School, One Book

Coming March 2019! We are excited to bring the national program, One School, One Book to all of our families as a part of National Reading Month this March. One School, One Book is a program designed to create a shared reading experience across the entire school community. We choose a book, give families a copy, and the family reads that book together at home. Every family and all staff in our school community reads the same book at the same time. We maximize the shared reading experience by presenting enriching activities at school that enable children to share and experience the characters and world of the book.

We will implement a variety of activities throughout the month to heighten and promote interest in and discussion of the book, from daily trivia questions to exciting assemblies to school-wide projects. Students experience the story with their family and enjoy participating in the activities at school. When our school models the habit of regularly reading together as a family, we create a strong foundation for literacy in each child's life.
